    Description:

The Messerschmitt Kabinenroller is a miniature vehicle for two people.

The car was built by Messerschmitt from 1953 to 1956, and between 1956 and 1964 by Fahrzeug- und Maschinenbau GmbH (FMR). The prototype was developed by Willy Messerschmitt and Fritz Fend in 1952 and presented at the Geneva Motor Show in spring 1953 as the KR 175. The cabin scooter was available in 4 versions: the KR 175, KR 200, KR 201 and the Tiger TG 500.

According to the documents available, the Messerschmitt KR 201 Roadster presented here was completely restored by the specialist Oliver Herbolzheimer (wheelset workshop) in Oldenburg. In the course of the restoration, the car was fitted with an original seat system in Python imitation from a Tiger Roadster TG 500, the only Messerschmitt version with 4 wheels. The adjustable backrest of the driver’s seat from the TG 500 should be emphasised in this context.
